SkyVu Pictures Inc. is an American animation studio based in Omaha, Nebraska with studios in Singapore and Vietnam. SkyVu specializes in creating original character franchises for film, TV, and mobile games. SkyVu was founded by animator Benjamin Vu and his brother Hoa Vu who manages the company's Asia operations.
SkyVu Pictures is financially backed by the Nebraska Angels investment group which includes some of the most successful entrepreneurs and executives in the Midwest.
About Benjamin Vu
Benjamin Vu is an animator, writer, and director from Omaha, Nebraska.
Benjamin received his Master's degree in Experimental Animation at CalArts and studied film & TV production at Ball State University where he was the first student to submit a computer animated short film for the famous David Letterman Scholarship which is intended for average students who have a creative mind. While at CalArts, Benjamin completed his second computer animated short film, Noobies, and began his professional career on Henry Selick's short film, Moongirl. Benjamin continued to work for Selick on the Academy Award nominated film, Coraline, where he worked closely with Selick in both the art and story departments. Benjamin also assisted LAIKA Entertainment in developing the upcoming film, Here Be Monsters. Benjamin has lectured at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Yersin University (Vietnam), the University of Nebraska (Omaha), Metropolitan Community College (Omaha) and his alma mater Creighton Prep High School (Omaha). In 2007, Benjamin and his brother Hoa founded SkyVu Pictures Inc., an independent animation studio based in Omaha, Singapore and Vietnam. Benjamin is the President of SkyVu Pictures and recently produced and directed the top selling iPhone game BATTLE BEARS: Zombies! which surpassed 1 Million downloads in under 30 days. While guiding SkyVu's mobile game development, he is producing BATTLE BEARS, a sci-fi adventure film he wrote while at CalArts.
